Rental agreements
We offer a rental agreement template for use by all members. If you use our template, your terms and conditions will be covered for compliance with relevant legislative requirements including the Fair Trading Act 1986, the Land Transport Operator Licensing Rule 2017, the Privacy Act and the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.

Compliance Advice
We provide members with advice on compliance with legislative requirements that apply to running a rental vehicle business, from the RVA’s own code of conduct, to the Land Transport Act 1998, the Fair Trading Act 1986, the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, and the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015. Compliance advice also includes Land Transport rules and regulations, such as the Operator Licensing Rule 2017. We have an overall compliance fact sheet available here.

The RVA works with the Tourism Industry Association on the promotion of the Drivesafe campaign – a campaign aimed at educating overseas visitors about driving safely on New Zealand roads.
